Warranty

Hey folks, I will write our warranty here in Plain Simple English, Straight from my mouth with as little legal jargon as possible.

i will fous on diamond engagment rings since they make up 80% of our sales. Here are the questions most asked about the warranty concerning our Jewellery and more specifically our diamond engagement rings.

DO YOU OFFER FREE CLEANING AND POLISHING & RESIZING

Cleaning and polishing, Yes we do this Lifetime at no extra charge. If i am in a good mood I have been even knows to clean and polish jewellery that you purchased from elsewhere at no extra cost. We also offer one free sizing with your ring purchase all other ring sizings cost extra.

MY ENGAGEMENT DIAMOND FELL OUT, WILL YOU REPLACE IT? THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION

Yes but we will only replace the diamond if the diamond falls out with no damage incurred to the ring from daily use or blunt force. Otherwise no we will not. This is the industry standard answer to the warranty question. So here is where you ask me, "daily use and blunt force covers pretty much everything does it not?"

My answer to you is- Yes it does!

The whole warranty is a "catch 22" and is often used as a marketing aspect to drive in customers within the jewellery industry... So let me explain this more clearly.

The truth is a diamond will never fall out unless one or more of the claws holding it are bent and or damaged. This damage may build up over time or may come from a single blunt force, such as you hitting the claw at a one in a one hundred angle on the bathroom sink.. You need to understand that there are 4-6 metal claws that are pushing against each other. Your diamond will and may come loose once, twice, or several times during its lifetime and may need to be re-tightened but it will not fall out without:

1) Damage to the claws from some sort of blunt trauma force

2) Continued neglection of a loose stone for an extended period of time.

HOW ABOUT THE WARRANTY OTHER STORES OFFER?

Some jewellery stores offer a warranty and advertise within the warranty to replace your diamond if anything happens to it. But here is the catch this policy that they offer is always protected under some sort of legal bail out such as;

"Lifetime Diamond Commitment does not cover sales or clearance diamond jewellery"
"Damage incurred in normal wear"
"Diamonds in their original settings that have been inspected and repaired by STORE NAME are covered by this limited warranty"
"Damage incurred from trauma"

So after reading the above conditions one has to ask,

How often are you buying an item from a jewellery store thats not on sale? they always have a sale of some sort.... Warranty Void

"Damage from normal wear" well isn't normal wear the most basic type of wear? how else can you wear a ring aside from normal? Warranty Void.

How often do I need to get my diamond inspected and how do I use it and wear it without normal wear to keep your warranty intact? Warranty Void.

"Damage incurred from trauma" trauma would be the most common and maybe the only thing that would cause the diamond to fall out. Warranty Void

THE TRUTH IS, A DIAMOND NEVER FALLS OUT UNLESS A CLAW IS DAMAGED, OR IS NEGLECTED AFTER IT HAS BECOME LOOSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE IN MY CAREER AND THUS I AM WRITING THIS "WARRANTY"

Final note on this subject. If there was not a half dozen way for the Jeweller to get out from their Warranty then bad people with bad intentions would be taking 1 carat diamond engagement rings home and carefully removing the diamond with specialty tools and coming back to the store and asking for a refund.

HOW ABOUT THE SMALLER DIAMONDS ON MY ENGAGMENT RING

Most retail stores make 200%+ profit on a sales item compared to my 15%-20% and they still will not even cover smaller diamonds against loss and will list it under their daily wear and tear clause. I continue to repair rings from BIG stores that fail to cover even the smaller diamonds on a daily basis.

I WILL ALMOST ALWAYS REPLACE ANY SMALL DIAMOND THAT MAY FALL OUT FROM A RING THAT I MADE OUT OF COURTESY, CARE AND LOYALTY.

Thank you for reading.
